SDGN Incomplete And Unproven Gear Selection Guide

Published by:

There will also be a short discussion about cores’ blueprint, however this is only applicable to level cap 35 patch. And I lost all my screenshots hours ago… T_T

Note that this guide is incomplete and unproven because I do not actually gather enough sample data to prove anything. However, generally this will give you an idea about what those stats are about and able to choose which you want to equip.

Also note that most of these stats tends to appear on Orange and Green armors. Yellow will have slightly differnt stats, which I will try to cover if I have the resources.

Overall

All stats have their variance. Is hard to figure out the the max and min value without large amount of player provide the data. However, you can do the comparison between your own’s and other people’s gear. Some people like to showoff their gear on lobby in game, keep a screenshot of their gear when they posted them.  It will help you to figure out whether the stat is actually low or high.

There are also chance that Yellow stat higher than Orange, or Orange higher than green. It is all depend on RNG(Random Number Generator). However, yellow name cores often have more specific stats like “Beam Damage”(빔 속성 피헤) and  “Physical Damage”(물리 속성 피헤). However, Orange and Green cores consists of stats that are general like “All Damage”(모든 속성 피해), which the stat will increase both beam damage and physical damage.

You can check your skill description to know whether the attack is physical damage or beam damage. It is explained in most of the skill’s description.

You also start to get special stat when you upgrade the cores to +6. The value of special stat increase according to your upgrade. Each core type have their own special stat.

Also note that even if the default value of main stat is different, the increased value by upgrade of the same core will be the same. The increased value is written in bracket. So, you can take the total, subtract the upgrade value in bracket, you will get the default value of the main stat.

Head Part

The main stat is defense value. It doesn’t add that much of defense compare to the rest of the parts. So, let’s focus on its secondary stats.

Head parts’ possible secondary stat are as follow:

  • 격투 방어력 – Melee Defense
  • 사격 방어력 – Range Defense
  • 서치거리 – Search Range
    • It’s usage is still a myth. There is no such stat in the unit’s detail. It does not affect shooting range.
    • My assumption is, the usage of this stat is increase the range of enemy can be lock on.* For example, if you use a head without this stat, you will get a shorter range of lock on.
      • If you are shooting, you will have to manual aim the enemy outside of lock on range.
      • If you are doing melee combat, your normal attack does not do combat dash when the enemy is not locked on.
    • However, if you use a head with high search range,
      • You can do autolock for enemy in a further range.
      • You can start your combat dash toward enemy from further away.
  • G게이지 증가량 – G Gauge Increase Rate
    • A good stuff if you frequently rely on your New Type Skill/Trans-Am.

Overall, I prefer a head that consist of defense value since I am not a G-Gauge related skill lover.

Special Stat

The special stat of head is Accuracy(정확도). It increase your minimum damage cap. Hence, it reduce the variance, increase the average damage.* (I just figure out what this stat does like few hours ago though…)

Here is my testing a few hours ago, of my damage.

SDGN 0 Accuracy, other stat unchange.

0 Accuracy, other stat remain same.

SDGN 1800 accuracy, other stats unchange.

1800 Accuracy, other stats remain same.

Body Part

The main stat is defense value. It is your main source of defense stat, so you do want to look at the main stat’s default value. If you upgrade your body part without checking the default value, you might have 300 less defense compare to other people who use the same core. So please do cautious about it when you are choosing your body part gear.

Body parts’ possible secondary stat are as follow:

  • HP
  • 모든 상태이상 저항 – All Special Condition Resist
    • Resist to all sort of special conditions. It will reduce the harm/interrupt effectiveness received from special conditions.
  • 모든 속성 저항 – All Properties Resistance
    • Increase Both Physical Damage Resist(몰리 속성 저항) and Beam Damage Resist(빔 촠성 저함).
  • Other specific resists
    • Too much of them, and their usage is sort of obvious, so I am not going to talk about them here. You can translate them and look for specific resists that you want too, to fight specific missions. That is just too min-max for me though…

Personally my preference is high main stat and high 모든 속성 저항 stat. However, you can also try to collect gears with specific stats for specific situations with higher value. That might work better.

Special Stat

The special stat of body is Cooldown Reduction(쿨 타임 감소)**. How much the cooldown reduction been reduce is not yet tested. (of course if enough people asking me here, I will test it up. But not yet.)

Backpack

The main stat is defense value. It is quite a lot, so you may want to take consideration about its main stat.

Backpack possible secondary stat are as follow:

  • 출력 – Output
    • The higher the output, the faster the dashing speed.
  • 이동 속도 – Movement Speed
  • 모든 상태이상 저항 – All Special Condition Resist
    • Resist to all sort of special conditions. It will reduce the harm/interrupt effectiveness received from special conditions.
  • 모든 속성 저항 – All Properties Resistance (Booster actually don’t have this stat)
    • Increase Both Physical Damage Resist(몰리 속성 저항) and Beam Damage Resist(빔 촠성 저함).
  • Other specific resists
    • Too much of them, and their usage is sort of obvious, so I am not going to talk about them here. You can translate them and look for specific resists that you want too, to fight specific missions. That is just too min-max for me though…

Personally, I don’t really care how fast I move. At least not for now. (And still, is annoying when I play with my friend and looking at him overtake me when dashing, so I still end up to take a booster with speed.) However, just for my preference, it is the same way I look at body part.

Special Stat

It’s special stat is Boost Gauge(부스트 개이지). Usage pretty obvious.

Weapon

The main stat is attack value. Obviously, the value of main stat is super important.

Weapon’s possible secondary stat are as follow:

  • 고정 피헤 – Fixed Damage
    • Usage Unknown.
    • It was said by Razor that it increase the damage of the fixed damage value after all the damage calculation, ignoring the enemy’s defense and resist value.*
    • These are my assumption*:
      • It is good for boss like apsalus who have high damage resist over player’s damage.
      • It will be very good for PvP especially when enemy is defense focused.
      • The higher the hpm(hits per minute), the more dpm(damage per minute) increased by the Fixed Damage.
  • 격투 공격력 – Melee Attack
  • 사격 공격력 – Range Attack
  • 공격솤도 – Attack Speed
  • 모든 속성 피헤 – All Properties Damage
    • Added both
      • 물리 속성 피헤 – Physical Damage
      • 빔 속성 피헤  – Beam Damage

My preference often a combination of 모든 속성 피헤, 공격 솤도 and high main stats. However, yellow blueprint sword and guns are both too good in specific cases. Anyway, there you go. There is no ‘best stat’ here, only ‘better stat ‘ in each situations. So you will have to do your own selections.

Special Stat

Weapon’s special stats is “Critical Rate”(치명타 확를).

Shield

The main stat is defense value. Obviously, the value of main stat is super important. It will take over the weapon’s slot when equip.

Shield’s possible secondary stat are as follow:

  • HP
  • 격투 방어력 – Melee Defense*
  • 사격 방어력 – Range Defense*
  • 오토가드 내구도 – Auto guard’s Durability
  • 오토가드 확를 – Auto guard rate*
  • 모든 속성 저항 – All Properties Resistance
    • Increase Both Physical Damage Resist(몰리 속성 저항) and Beam Damage Resist(빔 촠성 저함).
  • 모든 속성 피헤 – All Properties Damage*

My preference of guard choice is high main stats with high “All Properties Resistance” stat.

Special Stat

오토가드 확를 – Auto guard rate*, I lost my screenshot so I cannot double confirm its accuracy.

When To Use Shield?

Shield is generally consider as useless by most of the players as it trade attack stats for defenses. However, shield greatly increase the survival ability. I generally say switching weapon to shield is trading half of your damage with 3 times the defense. Well, not exactly 3 times.

However, if you meet some quests that extremely difficult for you or your group to deal with, take up a shield. When the damage you take reduce, you get much more time to deal damage, definitely more than twice the time as you survive the game rather than dying around. If you cannot take out a boss within 2 minutes with increased attacks, and you keep failing the quests, take up the shield.

Learn the enemy’s attacks pattern, get more chance to learn to dodge the enemies’ attack. Keep practicing until you can steadily beat the boss, then try to use the weapon instead to increase the efficiency.

Hands Part

The main stat is attack value. Obviously, the value of main stat is super important.

Hands part’s possible secondary stat are as follow:

Yep, exactly the same with weapon. So for my preference, please refer to the weapon.

Special Stat

The special stat of hand part is Critical Damage(치명타 피헤). I don’t think I need any comment here.

Legs Part

The main stat is defense value. It doesn’t add that much of defense compare to the rest of the parts. So, let’s focus on its secondary stats.

Legs part’s possible secondary stat are as follow:

  • 격투 방어력 – Melee Defense
  • 사격 방어력 – Range Defense
  • 이동 속도 – Movement Speed
  • 출력 – Output
  • 리로드 타임 감소 – Reload Time Reduce**

Well, I don’t really have preference for legs.

Special Stat

기동력 – Mobility. I have freaking no idea what is it about.

Green Sets

Is set always better? Cut the long rambling short, just compare the stats and choose your preference, including the stats from set bonus. Wrote a lot and found that those are common senses, so I deleted…

Yellow Blueprint Cores

There is currently 5 blueprints that you can hunt for*. Each of the blueprint are specifically suit for one type of unit, which is explained here. The stat that need unit type specific to activate will be higher than usual. I will just give you guys the info that I get.

  • Arms Blueprint
    • Get from Mission 3-1, ending’s 16 boxes selection
    • Secondary stats:
      • 고정 피헤 – Fixed Damage <Activate only when equip on Balance Type unit>*
      • 모든 속성 피헤 – All Properties Damage
  • Sword Blueprint
    • Get from Mission 3-2, ending’s 16 boxes selection
    • Secondary stats:
      • 격투 공격력 – Melee Attack <Activate only when equip on Assault Type unit>
      • 공격솤도 – Attack Speed*
  • Gun Blueprint
    • Get from Mission 3-3, ending’s 16 boxes selection
    • Secondary stats:
      • 사격 공격력 – Range Attack <Activate only when equip on Shooting Type unit>
      • 공격솤도 – Attack Speed*
  • Head Blueprint
    • Get from Mission 3-4, ending’s 16 boxes selection
    • Secondary stats:
      • 격투 방어력 – Melee Defense <Activate only when equip on Striking Type unit>
      • 서치거리 – Search Range
  • Body Blueprint
    • Get from Mission 3-5, ending’s 16 boxes selection
    • Secondary stats:
      • HP
      • 모든 속성 저항 – All Properties Resistance <Activate only when equip on Support Type unit>

I will not say which is better, but it should be obvious when you get the cores yourself if you refer to this incomplete and unproven guide.

So, there you go. GLHF

*It is not proven, do not quote me on this.

**Please do not mess up Cooldown Reduction(쿨 타임 감소) with Reload Time Reduce(리로드 타임 감소). Most of the skills are using cool down time while some other use reload. You can check out whether the skill is using Cooldown or reload by looking at your skill description.

SDGN Reload

Reload: 12s (리로드)

SDGN Cooldown

Cooldown: 15sec (쿨타임)

SDGN Proper Boss Fight Example

Published by:

Just found a video on official forum from a Korean. He isn’t particularly the best player in game, however in this video, it show the fundamental of the boss fights in SDGN. (Which means no fancy tricks here tho…)

  1. Attack the enemy while he isn’t doing any attack.
  2. Skill chain to remove unnecessary attacks’ animation.
  3. Dash away to cancel the recovery animation of the skill.

If you want some fancy way to beat the boss, go Youtube it yourself. There are some videos really show some tricks on boss fighting. However, this video show the basics, and this post focus on the fundamental either.

That’s all, pilots. GLHF

SDGN Strike GM Note

Just a correction, the full name of this unit seems to be as follow:

SDGN Strike Gundam

This blog post will only be an excerpt of actualy GM Note in the official website.

Chain Skill: Receive a 10% cooldown effect.

You can take advantage of the range before enemy reaching you by firing some bullets with this skill.

 SDGN Strike Rush
돌진
Deal physical damage to hit the target by 1100% with a short dash forward.

Chain Skill: Add a ‘SLOW’ effect to the attack.

1 hit dash. Long startup action

아머 슈나이더 난무
Battered armor and attack, dealing physical damage 155% per hit, launch the target to the air.

Chain Skill: Increase the attack power by 10%.

Zorua’s note: Feel like G-3 Gundam’s 3rd skill, except you yourself will end up in the air for the last hit. It can be inconvenient for skill chain in certain situation probably…

 SDGn Strike 아머 슈나이더 찌르기
아머 슈나이더 찌르기
Bypass the armor and push into the target, dealing 170% physical damage of melee attack. If you succeeding the first attack, it will follow up with 110% physical damage per hits multi-slashes.

Chain Skill: Cooldown is subject to 5% effectiveness. (?)

 SDGN Guard
가드
The damage received reduced by 50%. When the shield durability is zero, you can no longer guard anything.

If you activate the guard right at the moment you receive the attack, you will be able to do a counter attack.

Zorua’s note: This is the skill that I figured out the least compare to the rest of the skills in the game. I have no idea how this skill work. However, here are some observations and assumptions of how this [Guard] work.

  • Observation: It often reduce the damage for more than 50%.
  • Observation: It can only block for certain amounts of damage.
  • Observation: My friends and I are failing to activate counter attack of any sort. We still have no idea of how the counter attack work.
  • Assumption: There is an ‘auto-guard durability’ stat (오토가드 내구도) which might refer to the amount of damage you can block by your guard.
  • Observation: When the shield durability is zero, your shield(depend on each units) will show sparkling effects.
  • Observation: Even for the units like Ground Type Gundam who do not have ‘Guard’ skill, the shield will still show sparkling effect after receive some amount of damage.
  • Assumption: There is a chance to activate auto-guard and ‘absorb your damage’ by your shield.
  • Assumption: Depend on where your shield is on your unit, the area that have higher chance of activating the auto-guard vary.
  • Assumption: If you use the guard skill at the right timing, you still have to click some button to make the ‘counter attack’ work.

SDGN Strike Gundam

That’s all, folks. GLHF

SDGN Folder Size Myth

Published by:

If you worry about the game keep on ‘patching’ and taking up more and more spaces of your hard disk, now I will solve your problem.

The actual game size currently somewhere around 3.3±GB. If your BANDAI NAMCO SDGN folder is much larger than this size, your folder is now flooded with log files.

Log file maybe useful to you somewhere in future, but most likely not. It record down almost every action you did in game. Anyway, deleting the log file will not affecting your gameplay in anyway.

The log file are place in these two folder

 C:\Program Files (x86)\BANDAI NAMCO\SD Gundam Next Evolution\Exe\win32_vs2012_win7\release_Final\DX9\Log
C:\Program Files (x86)\BANDAI NAMCO\SD Gundam Next Evolution\Exe\win32_vs2012_win7\release_Final\DX9\Profile

Of course, if you save your SDGN in other location, the file will too locate at their respective folder.

Anyway, that’s it for now. There is like 2 more posts yet to do for today. GLHF
